Write a letter to the editor of an English Daily to express your view on the bad condition of your local hospital / health center.

Editorial letter on bad condition of hospital.

Ans.

To
The Editor
The Statesman
4, Chowringhee Square Kolkata - 700001
West Bengal

Sir,
I would be highly obliged if you would kindly allow me a little space in your widely circulated daily to express my view on the bad condition of the hospital in our locality. This poor condition of the hospital can be discussed in different ways . First of all, doctors are not available all the time. A huge number of patients came from all over the district with various types of complications. But they are usually left untreated day after day. The next big problem is lack of beds. You can see two patients in most of the beds. Most medicines are not available in hospitals; It has to be bought from outside. Many times it is not possible for poor people to buy more expensive medicines. The next problem is mismanagement. From the admission of the patient to the treatment -  in everything the disorder is noticed.

So I would like to draw the attention of the higher authorities through this letter. I also hope that the government will look into the matter and take necessary steps immediately so that the people can get the benefit of the health services provided by the state.

Yours faithfully

Festivals in India

Essay on Festivals in India.

Festivals are very important. They make us forget our cultural and religious differences. They unite people and they come together for the sole purpose of celebration and happiness. Other than that, festivals also help us embrace our culture and religion. They are very helpful in breaking the monotony of life.

Moreover, people look forward to festivals all-round the year. Festivals spark joy and give people something to look forward to. In addition, people also repair their homes and paint them that look brand new. It beautifies the look of the locality.
In short, festivals fill our lives with colors and enthusiasm. They bring us closer every year and eliminate any feelings of communal hatred. Further, they strengthen the bonds of the community and remove the malice from people’s hearts. Therefore, festivals are quite important and must be celebrated with passion.

India is a land of fairs and festivals. As different communities belonging to different religions live here, therefore many festivals are celebrated regularly every year. Among these festivals, some are religious; some are based on seasons while some are of national importance. All the festivals are celebrated with great enthusiasm in a colourful atmosphere.

Diwali, Dussehra, Raksha Bandhan, Eid-ul-Fitr, Id-ul-Zuha, Christmas, Mahavir Jayanti, Gurunanak Jayanti, Ganesh Chaturhi etc. are the religious festivals of India. These festivals are celebrated by different communities but they are celebrated as a whole. We can see a festive atmosphere everywhere in India.

Holi, Baisakhi, Basant Panchami, Bihu, Pongal, Onam etc. are seasonal or harvest festivals. The spirit of Holi is colour-rich and vibrant, flung into the air and smeared with immense joy on friends and dear ones.

This festival marks the end of winter season and advent of bright days of summer. Baisakhi, a harvest festival, is celebrated in North India, particularly in Punjab and Haryana, when the Rabi crop is ready for harvesting. In South India, during the same period, ‘Pongal’ is celebrated.

The farmers worship the sun, the earth and the cattle as thanks giving for a bounteous harvest. And then there is Basant Panchami. It marks the arrival of sweet spring, the season of pleasant breeze, flowers and fragrance. All fill life with vigour and vitality. Hence people celebrate this festival with great zeal and excitement.

Then comes our national festivals- the Independence Day, The Republic day and the Gandhi Jayanti. These festivals are celebrated by all communities throughout the country. The Independence Day celebrated on 15th August every year reminds us of those numerous freedom fighters that made the Britishers leave the country.

They gave us our long-cherished freedom. The Republic day, which falls on 26th January, is observed with national feeling. This festival fills us with pride that now we live in a sovereign democratic republic country with a constitution of our own. On this day a colourful parade starts from Vijay Chowk which ends at the Red Fort.

Similarly Gandhi Jayanti is also celebrated nationwide. It falls on 2nd October, the birthday of Mahatma Gandhi, the father of the Nation. Whole nation pays the heartiest tribute to our revered soul, who lived and died for the country.

The festivals make our life colourful and enthusiastic. They bring people together. They come every year to make us forget all ill-will and communal hatred. The festivals strengthen the feeling of oneness too; people, without any malice, meet with one another and wish for a bright future. Thus, festivals are very important and they must be celebrated with pomp and show by all.
In short, festivals fill our lives with colors and enthusiasm. They bring us closer every year and eliminate any feelings of communal hatred. Further, they strengthen the bonds of the community and remove the malice from people’s hearts. Therefore, festivals are quite important and must be celebrated with passion.

ESSAY ON " DUTY TO OUR PARENTS.''

Write an essay on " Duty to our parents.''

There is hardly a blessing in life which we do not owe to our parents . In humanity , parents are held in the highest regard. The parents make the home what it is. They make it a nest of love where we grow up. The father is the bread earner . In some cases mothers are also earn money for the family. The mother is a ministering angel feeding the children , looking after their comforts , watching by their sick beds . There is no limit to their self sacrifice for the children's welfare. The father spends his last penny to give his children a good education . He denies himself anything so that his children may make a better start in life then he did. The mother does not mind selling her ornaments , if it comes to finding a good match for her child or to meet the medical expenses of a sick child.

Naturally, so much love and sacrifice can not be lost on a child. Nobody is dearer to a child than his or her father and mother. They take all the troubles of their sons or daughters to them. All children looks to them a sense of security so long as they have their parents to watch over them. All children finds a shelter into their parents. That, in fact is a child's greatest need. Except our parents, we are pitifully weak and small in this big world.

When the child grows up into a man , it is up to him to do as much for his parents as they did for him. A son should be the prop of his family. He should lighten his father's burden as much as possible. When the parents grow old and infirm, he should offer them whatever ease and comfort he can. In western countries , the old people live apart . Their grown - up sons and daughters live in the homes of their own . But that is not the Indian practice . So long as the son has a roof over his head, he does not shirk the duty of looking after his old parents . These ties of love and duty make the family life wonderfully pure and sweet and charming.

Write an essay on " Life In School Hostel "

Short essay on '' Life In School Hostel .''

Every good school has a hostel attached to it for the residence of teachers and students , coming from distant places . Our school also has such a hostel.

It consists of a long one storied building of twenty rooms open on all sides . One of these rooms is for the superintendent , while the others are for teachers and students .There is a separate building for the kitchen and the menials .

We have to live a strictly regulated life in the hostel . At five in the morning rings a bell . We have to get up at once , ease ourselves and was our faces . Then comes the morning tiffin which varies from day to day . The next three hours we devote to our studies . Some of the resident teachers go round our rooms and help us through our difficulties . After a little rest we have our bath and breakfast , and then we go to our classes . After school we get some substantial tiffin which also varies from day to day . The afternoon is devoted to physical exercise of some sort , often under the supervision of some of our physical Instructors. On return to the hostel we first wash ourselves and then sit down at our studies . Our supper comes at about 9 p.m. after which we retire to bed. There are occasional variations in this program ; but the Superintendent and other teachers see to it that we do not indulge in any undesirable activity .

I always felt sick for home for a long time after I had first come to the school hostel . My heart yearned for the loving touch of my parents and others and for the comforts I always enjoyed at home. But as time has passed on , I have begun to feel at home here . There is no want of friendship with all that it means . We are thirty boarders making up a family with the Superintendent as the head . If anyone falls ill ,  the hostel doctor comes in and the fellow boarders give him all the care and attention he may require .

Hostel life has its advantages too. It gives us habits of self - help . We have to take care of our personal belongings ourselves , make up our own beds and live under strict control from morning to night . These are the habits which I am sure will stand me in good stead in my future life .
